We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team for an exciting dry dock project in Port Melbourne for a leading freight company.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

• 15 Month FTC / Based in Port Melbourne. Most likely to be extended.
• 4 days a week in the office is Mandatory.
• $180,000 Package Inclusive of Superannuation.

THE ROLE:

As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and execution of a significant dry dock project in Port Melbourne. This project entails extensive coordination, resource management, and technical expertise in the fields of maritime, construction, mining, or infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and contribute to the successful completion of this challenging and rewarding venture.

• Lead and manage all aspects of the dry dock project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management strategies, and contingency plans.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify project requirements, address technical challenges, and maintain effective communication channels.
• Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and contract management.
• Provide guidance and support to the project team, promoting a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Prepare regular progress reports, presentations, and other project documentation for senior management and key stakeholders.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects within the maritime, construction, mining, or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
• Strong technical expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in dry dock projects, would be great, but not essential.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A relevant degree or qualification in engineering, construction management, or a related field is highly desirable.
