Salt is pleased to have partnered with a leading Logistics organisation with a global customer base, who is currently seeking a Unix Engineer to join one of their Infrastructure teams on a permanent basis. <\/p>\n

They have multiple offices across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and the role can be based from any of these locations. <\/p>\n

The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a Unix Engineer, you will be working on an exciting cloud migration project, and will:<\/p>\n

\n
• Act as a senior member of the support team, providing operational support<\/li>\n
• Troubleshoot and help to resolve high-level technical issues<\/li>\n
• Provide Unix System administration and 3rd level support on the Unix infrastructure<\/li>\n
• Maintain infrastructure systems<\/li>\n
• Design and elevate new solutions<\/li>\n
• Oversee SOE development<\/li>\n
• Work closely and guide the Technical Services and Service Desk teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Key Skills and Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  The successful Unix Engineer should have the following skill set:<\/p>\n

  Essential Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n

  \n
  • Extensive experience working with Unix O\/S<\/li>\n
  • In depth experience of Unix Systems Administration <\/li>\n
  • Solaris Systems Administration <\/li>\n
  • RHEL \/ Linux<\/li>\n
  • Enterprise Services <\/li>\n
  • Enterprise Storage systems (HDS, NetApp, Brocade, McData)<\/li>\n
  • Strong knowledge of open source applications (Squid, Samba, OpenSSH \/ OpenSSL, Apache \/ Tomcat) <\/li>\n
  • Understanding of networking \/ distributed computing environments<\/li>\n
  • Knowledge of administrative programming languages (Tk, Perl, Shell)<\/li>\n
  • Ability to write C programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Desired Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n
