{"id":45727,"date":"2023-08-10T01:11:04","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T00:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/welovesalt.com\/au\/jobs\/%wpbb_job_industry%\/digital-accessibility-consultant\/"},"modified":"2023-10-09T14:19:25","modified_gmt":"2023-10-09T13:19:25","slug":"digital-accessibility-consultant-45727","status":"archive","type":"wpbb_job","link":"https:\/\/welovesalt.com\/au\/jobs\/creative\/digital-accessibility-consultant-45727","title":{"rendered":"Digital Accessibility Consultant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Contract Length: 6 months (likely to extend)<\/p>\n<p>Day Rate: $700-900<\/p>\n<p>Working Arrangements: Hybrid<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Company:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A large financial services organisation based in Melbourne CBD are looking for a Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist to join their team on an initial 6 month day rate contract.<\/p>\n<p>This Digital Accessibility Consultant role will be mostly remote, with 2 days a week in the office.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Role Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Review designs for accessibility and provide feedback<\/li>\n<li>Write accessibility requirements and acceptance criteria in user stories<\/li>\n<li>Support Agile squads with accessibility guidance and support<\/li>\n<li>Providing engineering team with accessibility guidance and support<\/li>\n<li>Attend relevant Agile ceremonies<\/li>\n<li>Testing for accessibility with assistive technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Core competencies:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to deal with highly ambiguous environments, provide structure and simplify complex problems<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take complete ownership and accountability and drive outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of relevant legislation, governance, regulatory and compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Ability to drive out options and solutions when dealing with problem spaces<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn and challenge processes to improve efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Technical Skills &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>4+ years&#8217; accessibility experience<\/li>\n<li>Expert knowledge of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WCAG20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WCAG<\/a> 2.x guidelines and techniques<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of WAI-ARIA best practices and implementation in complex user interfaces<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of inclusive design practices, technical accessibility and digital accessibility best practices<\/li>\n<li>Able to identify inaccessible features of visual and interaction design<\/li>\n<li>Able to support accessible product development from design through development to quality testing<\/li>\n<li>Experience testing accessibility on multiple platforms (desktop, tablet, iOS, Android)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full client &amp; project details available on request<\/p>\n<h2>Digital Accessibility Consultant &#8211; Apply today!<\/h2>\n<p>If you are interested, please apply now or send your resume to jcorner@welovesalt.com<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledgement of Country<\/p>\n<p>Salt respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Australia as the continuing custodians of country and culture.
