As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you&#8217;ll play a central role in a specialist team of AWS security experts, designing and building scalable security capabilities that protect our cloud infrastructure and empower our development teams.<\/p>\n<p>This is a hands-on engineering position that prioritizes coding, automation, and innovation. You&#8217;ll develop and maintain security tools, drive cloud-native security solutions, and act as a key advisor to product and platform teams-guiding them to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond technical delivery, you&#8217;ll also help shape our strategic direction, mentor junior engineers, and uplift DevSecOps capabilities across the broader cloud community.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Be Doing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as a key liaison between Cloud, InfoSec, and Development teams.<\/li>\n<li>Lead secure design conversations and advise on risk mitigation strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Develop automation and tooling to enhance security visibility and enforcement across AWS environments.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Security team to understand the evolving threat landscape and address vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Guide development teams on secure architecture, coding practices, and cloud-native security solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Stay ahead of emerging technologies and continuously evaluate opportunities to improve our cloud security posture.<\/li>\n<li>Share knowledge, lead by example, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.<\/li>\n<li>Influence best practices in automation, DevOps, and secure cloud engineering at scale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong software engineering skills, ideally with experience in Python, Java, or other relevant languages.<\/li>\n<li>Deep expertise in AWS and the ability to independently design, build, and secure scalable cloud solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of cloud networking and core internet protocols (e.g., TCP\/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP).<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience or a strong interest in key security domains: Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, Detection Engineering, IAM, and Network Security.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Passion for mentoring others and fostering a culture of security-minded development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledgement of Country<\/p>\n<p>Salt respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Australia as the continuing custodians of country and culture.
