{"id":271007,"date":"2022-11-16T11:45:18","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T10:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/welovesalt.com\/be\/jobs\/%wpbb_job_industry%\/senior-oracle-dba\/"},"modified":"2022-12-31T12:25:49","modified_gmt":"2022-12-31T11:25:49","slug":"senior-oracle-dba-271007","status":"archive","type":"wpbb_job","link":"https:\/\/welovesalt.com\/be\/jobs\/technology\/senior-oracle-dba-271007","title":{"rendered":"Senior Oracle DBA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Senior Oracle DBA &#8211; Banking Client &#8211; Brussels <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration: 1 year contract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rate: Flexible<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Remote Working: Must be able to be onsite 3 days in a month the rest you are remote working<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team!<\/li>\n<li>As a Database Administrator at our company, you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining our company&#8217;s databases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Role and responsibilities :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing, tuning and upgrading RDBMS infrastructures<\/li>\n<li>Proactively and regularly making recommendations for database improvements (policies, procedures &amp; standards)<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise<\/li>\n<li>Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors<\/li>\n<li>Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access by establishing and maintaining security and integrity controls<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of disaster<\/li>\n<li>Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance<\/li>\n<li>Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance, performance, reliability and protection<\/li>\n<li>Regularly liaising with IT project teams including database programmers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position includes participation in the watch duty role (24\/7 on call for a total of about 7 to 10 days per month).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications :<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3+ years of experience with Database Administration for Oracle (12c onwards)<\/li>\n<li>Analytical mindset in troubleshooting and resolving database problems<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding in <strong>Performance Tuning and Optimization<\/strong> (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools<\/li>\n<li>Experience with backups, restores and recovery models<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in SQL language<\/li>\n<li>Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts (Shell, Ansible playbooks)<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinker and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and documentation skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Team player highly organized with a sense of ownership<\/li>\n<li>Capable of working under pressure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred candidates would also meet the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager<\/li>\n<li>Experience with <strong>ServiceNow &amp; Azure DevOps<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Experience with Ansible playbooks<\/li>\n<li>Experience with other database systems like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL &amp; MongoDB will be considered as an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you need any specific accommodation due to disability or any other reason, you can let the recruiter know during your application process.<\/p>\n<p>Please do send across to me the most up to date CV to eobiechefu@welovesalt.com<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/counter.adcourier.com\/ZW9iaWVjaGZ1LjUyNzkzLjEyNDk0QHNhbHQuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senior Oracle DBA &#8211; Banking Client &#8211; Brussels Duration: 1 year contract Rate: Flexible Remote Working: Must be able to be onsite 3 days in a month the rest you are remote working We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team!
