They are seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to join their team and play a critical role in enhancing and maintaining their core mainframe systems.<\/p>\n<p>This role is ideal for someone with strong COBOL expertise and a solid understanding of secure backend services, API design, and event-driven programming. Preference will be given to candidates with Java coding experience alongside their mainframe skills.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p> * Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.<br \/> * Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain high-quality standards.<br \/> * Deploy changes to production while ensuring system stability.<br \/> * Collaborate across teams, including DevOps and QA, to optimize workflows.<br \/> * Participate in SCRUM ceremonies, contributing to Agile development processes.<br \/> * Estimate and plan development tasks to align with business needs.<br \/> * Mentor junior developers and share best practices.<br \/> * Analyze and understand existing code to drive enhancements and improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p> * Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Computer Science or related field (Master&#8217;s preferred).<br \/> * 6+ years of development experience in mainframe environments.<br \/> * Strong background in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.<br \/> * Knowledge of secure backend services, API design, data modeling, and event-driven programming.<br \/> * Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) is a plus.<br \/> * Experience working within Agile frameworks and participating in SCRUM ceremonies.<br \/> * Nice-to-have skills: Python, Linux, Java (preference given to candidates with Java experience).<br \/> * Financial services experience, particularly in wealth management, is a plus but not mandatory.<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly respected financial institution that prioritizes innovation, stability, and best-in-class technology solutions to support its long-term vision.
