Job Title: Senior Java Engineer

Salary: £65k to £100k depending on experience, plus bonus + additional benefits

We are supporting a leading retail e-commerce platform who have an audience in over 150 countries worldwide. The business has recently received significant investment and is going through a digital transformation. With a collaborative working culture, they have made a number of key C-suite hires and are now looking to expand the backend team with high-calibre and ambitious engineers. Their technology stack is Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.

About the Role:

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be a key member of our highly skilled development team, working alongside other engineers to develop the best possible solutions to our business needs. You will be empowered to make tech decisions (both low-level and high-level), as well as collaborate on architecture design and roadmap planning. This is an exciting time to join the team, with opportunities to learn new skills and lead innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and enhance our e-commerce platform using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS technologies.
• Collaborate with other engineers on architecture design and roadmap planning.
• Write clean and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and standards.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of projects
• Continuously improve and optimize our technology stack to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Requirements:

• 5 years mid – senior level experience in Java development
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and AWS technologies
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working in an Agile environment
