IT Project Manager (New packages/ERP implementation, upgrade of existing packages/infrastructure) – Banking Client – Brussels

Duration: 12 month contract

Rate: 650 – 700 per day

Hybrid working: 1-3 days per month onsite, the rest can be worked remotely.

The Corporate Support Applications team looks after the solutions used by our internal corporate teams such as Finance, HR, Risk, Audit, Compliance and Legal.

The applications in scope are mostly packaged solutions from external vendors and support from tens to thousands of users.

As part of the Corporate Support Applications team, we are looking for an IT project manager with a functional analysis experience to assist us to lead and manage several initiatives

• (new packages/ERP implementation, upgrade of existing packages/infrastructure, enhancements to existing applications…).
• The applications may be SAAS, cloud hosted or hosted on premise – when hosted on premise, the role requires coordination of the infrastructure teams (internal or external).
• You will work in a challenging environment, taking full ownership of the initiatives and committing on the quality of the production.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of your projects, including:

Writing of comprehensive project memos, allowing the management to take relevant decisions
Organisation of RFI/RFP with external vendors to evaluate and select the most adequate solution meeting our functional and non-functional requirements
Delivery of the project scope on time, on budget, and with the expected quality.

To be successful, you:

• Manage virtual teams across various divisions and entities, including third party suppliers
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with your customers
• Develop and maintain project plans and forecasts, including resource requirements, costs, risks
• Define deliverables, assign their production to project team members and monitor their progress and quality
• Manage the staffing of assigned projects and monitor budget spent
• Lead the risk, issue and change control processes for assigned projects and track action items
• Control and monitor the progress of projects, reporting to IT Management and to your sponsor
• Manage the project according to the clients internal standards (methodology & tools)

Profile

We are looking for a “hands-on” IT Project Lead with functional analysis experience, who is able to manage a business package upgrade project as well as smaller initiatives in a structured complex IT infrastructure.

As a Project Lead:

• 5 years of experience in a IT project management role or an equivalent experience in the core activities of the function (i.e plan, control and monitor a project execution), either in waterfall or agile methodology
• Exposure to large business package implementation/upgrade projects
• Experience in the process of evaluation and selection of external solution (ERP/packages) – RFI/RFP
• Knowledge of basic IT principles (system integration, data management, File Transfer, ETL, network, …)
• Openness to change (agile methodology)
• Strong leadership skills, which you can adapt to the situation and to the different stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills in English (talking, writing and presenting), which you can use at all levels, from staff members to senior management level
• Strong negotiation skills, conflict management skills and influencing skills

Experience in architecture/design of packaged applications

As a Business Analyst:
– You collect requirements from different departments (HR, Risk, Audit, IT, …) across several entities of our group
– You produce detailed business requirements
– You facilitate communication between Business and IT teams during the project delivery phase. You also provide an effective interface with the package vendor and the implementation partner
– You are able to make the business aware of their own interests and the implications of their decision or request
– You pay attention to having the right trade-off between quality, cost and timeliness

You’ll be involved in the testing of the designed solution:
* you define the scope of the testing
* you develop business test scenarios and review test cases prepared by testers
* you review the testing done by the external parties to ensure that requirements have been correctly implemented
* you participate and support the test execution handled by end-users during the User Acceptance Test (UAT)

You’ll be involved in the project management activities :
– You initiate and lead the implementation of the strategic group solution
– You contribute to the definition of the overall project governance and organisation, the deliverable scope and the associated responsibilities, together with the Product Owner;
– You oversee the business, technical, organizational, management and financial aspects of the project, ensuring that the project remains under control and reaches its Business objectives
– You regularly contribute to reporting project progress at all levels, including Product Owner, senior management and sponsor/client;
– You assist Product Owner to gain organizational buy-in where required; maintains and follows-up throughout the project;
– You autonomously deal with tensions and disputes, looking for consensus and benefit for the company
