Step into a pivotal role that will shape the future of entertainment in New Zealand as a Principal Network Engineer for our client, a visionary with over thirty years of experience in creating captivating stories and content.

In this position, you will be central to designing, monitoring, and optimising network systems to ensure their reliability and performance. You will lead and nurture the Networking Team, oversee network infrastructure, and manage the execution of complex network modifications with precision. This role demands proactive leadership and a strong commitment to achieving excellence in network management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the implementation of complex network changes, assessing potential risks and securing necessary approvals

· Drive improvements in change management procedures and lead strategic evaluations for network enhancements

· Act as the point of escalation for your team of Engineers, providing hands-on technical support during high-severity operational issues to ensure stability and continuity of service

· Guide and inspire your technical team, fostering innovation and excellence within your practice

· Build and maintain strong relationships with users, key contacts, and service providers

· Implement effective strategies to maximise team productivity and performance

· Maintain high network availability, ensuring there are no avoidable outages

What We Are Looking For:

· Management or Team Lead experience is highly desirable

· An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge. Certifications such as CCNA are required; CCNP, CCIE, or progress towards these is highly valued

· Proficiency in navigating complex network environments, with a particular focus on core Data Centre networking

· Expertise in BGP, VOIP environments, and Disaster Recovery procedures

· Strong knowledge of Cisco technologies and network design principles

· ITIL Foundation knowledge
