Contract Specialist (Cape Town)

Salt has an exciting new position available for a Contract Specialist to join our Legal and Compliance Team, based in Cape Town!

About the Role

As part of our legal and compliance team, working with our international clients & internal sales teams, you will perform a range of duties including negotiating contract terms, preparing contracts, evaluating bids, and researching current regulations.

Main Responsibilities

• Negotiate contractual terms for the services the company provides.
• Assess the need for updates and amendments to existing contracts.
• Prepare, manage , and oversee contracts between the company and potential clients.
• Take steps to minimize risks (including completion of various background and credit checks)
• Manage all variations and change orders to contracts.
• Maintain contract registry, document repositories, and client billing information.
• Serve as liaison with outside contracting representatives.
• Assess and prepare supplier questionnaires for vendor registration.
• Develop and implement effective procurement proposals.
• Research regulations to guarantee contracts are updated and in compliance with laws.
• Liaise/coordinate with clients to ensure requirements and obligations under contracts are fulfilled in compliance with the contract terms and regulations.

We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in law or relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications.
• Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to resolve client complaints and concerns.
