The role:

We are excited to hire those looking at entry positions into the recruitment sector. The requirement is to hire a cohort of 4-6 Trainee Recruitment Consultants to join our brand new office in READING. We will be running a dedicated training academy to ensure as a business we are converting your prior life & professional experiences into sharp recruitment competencies to maximise your chances of success. The Reading Commercial Director, Contract Regional Director, Global L&D Director / Team and the wider leadership team will all be part of well organised academy that will be delivered over a period of 6 months, consisting of workshops, online learning, desk based mentoring & coaching. We really have worked hard to think of everything to make you successful.

The Ideal Candidate will understand and be excited by:

  • The opportunity to embrace different business cultures and embrace the digital community with an understanding of what goes into building relationships
  • Experience working in a client/customer facing position, doesn’t have to be a sales role, but you must have the ability to communicate confidently in a business setting and can talk to us about phone work
  • Written Communication: Connecting with the digital community requires extensive work online, using various channels, you will be required to write adverts, InMail’s, emails, job briefs, candidate writes up from your first weeks in recruitment so strong writing skills are required
  • Enjoys Research: The best consultants invest time into understanding their markets, they find passion projects and therefor communicate with ease when networking
  • Hungry to succeed and very comfortable working to a framework of targets that help you see first hand if your result will come! The Key here is accountability if you miss the mark one week can you own that? No one is expected to be perfect, but always trying to do the right thing and working hard on behalf of our customers is a must. Nothing good comes easy and Recruitment magic doesn’t happen overnight
  • An individual who can be resilient, work at pace in an ever-changing business environment and have perseverance during rejection, this doesn’t mean hours of dealing with cold call rejections, we work hard to conduct our business more consultatively, but you must have the patience and perseverance when building your network of candidates and clients and understand success doesn’t come overnight


  • Be an expert at identifying digital talent against the demands of our clients
  • Build a universe (network) of digital customers
  • Written Sales – Working across various platforms attracting digital connections with content
  • Marketing – Understand the power of social selling and how your network building requires you to be your own marketing department
  • Passion – Fully embrace your profession with a real drive to not just “do a deal” but create a future
  • Customer Service – Add value and drive salts best practices everyday
  • Manage candidates through the entire recruitment process by creating a 2 way consultative business relationships
  • Identify and actively develop potential new clients (Also known as the dreaded BD, but with our training and coaching methodology we promise you its easier than you think)
  • Work with existing clients, to assist in filling their open roles, as well as further developing the accounts
  • End to end recruitment process – sourcing, screening, through to post placement follow up
