They build their own hardware, and control the integration from the air to their antennas, right into their customer&#8217;s homes.<\/p>\n<p>They have the financial clout to disrupt the industry, with over $150M of funding, and have exclusive bandwidth in the 24GHz range, covering over 50M households in the US and counting!<\/p>\n<p>They are huge proponents of an internet that is fair and accessible for all, baking Net Neutrality into their terms of service and installing their antennas, free of charge, to serve disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Write embedded software for Millimeter Wave radios and wifi products<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enable networking for a wireless internet service using C++, Rust in Linux<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mentor junior engineers<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Evangelize for modular code, scalable APIs and Linux\/ARM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Lead or Principal Level engineer<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">An expert in one of C++ or Rust<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Has worked on embedded products in a Linux environment<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Has written device drivers in Linux<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Knowledge of GbE+, SPI, PHYs <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to Haves<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strong grasp of WiFi 5 and 6 (802.11ax \/ 802.11ac)<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Longstanding interest in hardware and lower level code<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Knowledge of radio frequency technologies, including millimeter wave<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Active Open Source contributions <\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experience debugging from the physical layer upwards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Salt is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Join a Series C funded startup and #FixTheInternet.
