Accounts Receivable Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Location: Pretoria<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for financial excellence and operational efficiency? My client is a prestigious law firm- looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager<\/strong> to lead a high-performing team of 20 professionals across a geographically diverse debtors’ book. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a critical finance function within a complex, fast-paced legal environment.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounts Receivable, E-Billing, and Receipting teams.<\/li>\n
  • Drive improved cash flow through effective debt collection strategies and performance management.<\/li>\n
  • Oversee critical operational processes, including billing, statement generation, deposit allocation, credit notes, and client refunds.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with Partners and senior stakeholders to reduce outstanding debt.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure adherence to the Legal Practice Act and the firm’s internal financial policies.<\/li>\n
  • Manage complex client accounts and multi-currency transactions.<\/li>\n
  • Deliver regular, insightful reporting on billing and collections performance to inform strategic decisions.<\/li>\n
  • Support and train legal support staff to enable accurate and timely billing across all departments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Your Profile<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    To succeed in this role, you will need:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.<\/li>\n
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing large Accounts Receivable teams.<\/li>\n
    • Proven success in implementing process improvements and reducing debtor days.<\/li>\n
    • Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment.<\/li>\n
    • Strong working knowledge of WIP, trust accounting, and multi-currency operations.<\/li>\n
    • Advanced Excel skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.<\/li>\n
    • Excellent report design, data interpretation, and presentation abilities.<\/li>\n
    • Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n
    • A clear criminal and credit record (to be disclosed during application).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
