Senior Communications Advisor

Reporting to the Director Engagement and Impact and sitting within the Te Ihuwaka Evaluation and Research team, this Senior Comms role is a a short term position to provide assistance during a recruitment phase for 2 months.

This position will require considerable experience and knowledge of media/ external comms will be critical as you’ll be hitting the ground running!

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders – so you must be comfortable engaging with various senior leaders/executives/ key high level external leaders (particularly within the education sector).

The role:

• Provide strategic input into various pieces of material including media releases
• Provide media advice and support to DCE’s and CE in relation to projects and findings
• Coordinate with the departments wider communication and functions
• Lead and manage communication with media

You:

• Strong stakeholder engagement and strategic comms skills
• Experience within the education sector and/ or govt
• Highly resilient and agile
• Excellent writing and content creation ability
• Proven ability to build and nurture relationships
• Keen to make an impact
