Applications and Environments Engineer
Technology
The role:
· Optimise and automate application deployment- get the environment DevOps & Cloud ready
· Make the CICD pipeline cloud ready
· Work with AWS/ Azure once everything is moved from on-prem to the cloud
· Do data refreshes & sanitation on SQL databases
· Transition build pipelines & CI/CD to a cloud environment (AWS/ Azure)
· Use tools like Octopus Deploy to optimise delivery of applications to production
· Part of the Applications Development team, work closely with QA and BA teams
The ideal candidate:
· Experience in a Linux and Windows environment, in development, deployment or devOps
· Strong automation experience, both Microsoft and Open Source
· Experience building pipelines for software deployment, ideally in a cloud environment
· Experience with deployment automation tools such as Octopus Deploy is ideal
· Containerisation experience in a Java/.Net environment
· MS SQL experience
· Experience with monitoring & logging, ELK stack preferred
· Good scripting experience with the likes of PowerShell, Python, Shell
· Experience with automation & configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef or SaltStack
· Excellent communication and people skills
