Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced DBA to join our client’s team, an innovative international software house, that has a fantastic growth and development structure. You will be joining an established function with room to learn and grow in a culture that invests in you.

As a Database Administrator with our client, you will work to keep the database environment up and running efficiently on a day to day basis. You will action tickets from end users, answers questions, and promptly addresses issues that arises. You will work with the DBA team on process improvements and strives to learn best practices and new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day data administration of SQL server in an Azure environment.
• Work on complex queries, configuration of databases, and optimisation procedures to ensure efficiency in performance.
• Take proactive measures to monitor, trend, and tune SQL databases.
• Ensure databases are backed up and can be recovered.
• Other duties as needed to support Data Architects, Developers and Product Teams.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

• 3+ years experience working as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA
• Experience running query analysis, performance tuning, and maintenance routines
• Experience with creating and maintaining storage procedures
• Familiar with reviewing SQL code
• Understanding of software development cycles and CI/CD principles
• Experience working in a cloud (Azure preferable) or virtual environment is a plus
• Coding experience is a plus
