The Role:

As an experienced Software Development Manager you will be leading a high performing Team working in a growing, transformational environment helping to build best of breed – world class software across large scale platforms. You will be building a brand new platform as well as major enhancements to existing platforms – cross functional, from the ground up using contemporary architecture in modern tooling, largely Java and NodeJS hosted in AWS.

Most of the tech stack is hosted in AWS so we are looking for a Development Manager who has used the AWS tooling eco-system before.

Your team will be designing and building large scale WebAPI’s, Restful Services integrating into core systems as well as other 3rd party API’s and platforms.

You will also engage with business users and establish an understanding of real-life business issues/problems to find value add technical solutions.

Your experience:

As a Development Manager you will have experience leading and managing teams in the past. You’ll be an advocate of software best practices and principles with a penchant for moving software from current state to future state considering things like Scale, Performance, Security and Cloud. Ideally you will have experience taking people on a journey of change and leading them through the peaks and troughs of Software Delivery.

You’ve worked with smart techies before and you were a techie once yourself but you’ve reached a point in your career where you are no longer rolling up your sleeves.
