Senior Art Director

The Senior Art Director collaborates closely with copywriters and other creative team members to conceptualize and develop integrated solutions for advertising, online promotions, video, motion graphics, and various marketing channels. This role involves extending and maintaining a brand’s design equities across these channels, culminating in the preparation of final files for printing or technical implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualization: Partner with copywriters and the creative team to generate breakthrough concepts aligning with creative brief requirements.
• Design Development: Establish and develop design solutions in accordance with brand equities, project concepts, copy, and technical requirements.
• Collaboration: Assist team members in meeting deadlines and deliverables, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• File Preparation: Prepare final files for handoff, ensuring they meet printing or technical development standards.
• Client Interaction: Capable of holding a client-facing role and coordinating with different vendors.
• Leadership: Direct and guide junior designers when needed.
• Adaptability: Be self-motivated, maintain a positive attitude, and possess strong communication skills.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current on visual design techniques and software tools. Remain attuned to societal and cultural trends.

Requirements:

• Education: Degree in visual communications or a related design field.
• Experience: 4+ years of professional advertising, interactive, or multimedia experience.
• Skills: Excellent design and typography skills, proficiency in major design and layout software programs (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator). Motion graphics capabilities are a plus.
• Leadership Ability: Capable of directing junior designers, strong verbal communication skills, and effective collaboration within a team environment.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to juggle assignments, maintain a highly organized and detail-oriented work approach while working within deadlines.
• Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies and embrace evolving “best practices.” Broad-based knowledge of internet design best practices.
• Industry Awareness: Interest in social and cultural trends and staying up-to-date on emerging digital technologies.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of styles and relevant experience.
