Our client, a leading financial institution in Kuwait, is seeking a Principal Integration Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade technology solutions. This role combines technical leadership with deep integration expertise – ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable systems that align with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the design and delivery of enterprise technology solutions across core platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Lead the end-to-end integration of systems and services across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Architect, develop, and review RESTful APIs, SOAP-based services, messaging systems, and data transformation layers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams – including architecture, infrastructure, business, and delivery teams – to capture requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Guide and mentor engineers across teams, promoting best practices in coding, design, and solution delivery.
• Monitor and optimise system performance, proactively identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., OWASP), data protection regulations, and internal governance policies.
• Support deployments and configuration changes across production and non-production environments.
• Champion emerging technologies and drive adoption where strategically aligned.
• Present architecture and integration designs to senior stakeholders and technical boards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise software engineering or integration roles.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing service-oriented architectures and enterprise APIs.
• Strong command of Java, JEE, Spring Boot, REST/SOAP web services, and API security standards.
• Solid understanding of enterprise systems architecture and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Background in the banking or financial services sector is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in system integration patterns, data flow design, and performance optimisation.
• Experience working with message brokers, transformation engines, or enterprise service buses (ESB).
• Strong grasp of Agile delivery models and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and present to technical and business stakeholders.
