Senior AI Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior AI Engineer to play a key role in leading the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge AI/ML solutions. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding developers and ensuring best practice across AI projects.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of AI/ML solutions from concept to production.

• Provide technical direction and mentor developers on AI best practices, coding standards, and secure solution delivery.

• Build and optimise RAG pipelines, embeddings, fine-tuning, and inference optimisation.

• Work with Azure AI services, OpenAI, Hugging Face, and other LLM platforms to deliver scalable solutions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and testers to ensure robust and reliable software outcomes.

• Support and maintain core applications, resolving issues proactively and driving continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years’ experience in machine learning, data science, or a related field, including 1-2 years in AI/MLOps.

• Proven experience leading AI/ML projects and setting technical direction.

• Strong skills in Azure services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Search, ML, Functions) and modern data/ML frameworks.

• Proficiency in Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas) and SQL/Postgres.

• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector search, and fine-tuning models.

• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, API development, and system integration.

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification in Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
