I am recruiting for a Lead Java Engineer on behalf of a company who were founded over 60 years ago and have grown to over 30,000 employees in that time – they are one of the most successful financial services businesses in Britain.
However, despite being founded so long ago, they continue to innovate and demonstrate a progressive attitude in everything they do.
This Lead Java Engineer role will sit in the team that is responsible for creating and maintaining a large scale key-value store used by over 50 systems in the bank – so it’s a high profile position, as you’ll be responsible for checking the quality of the work here.
You will also be designing and developing reusable libraries and APIs for use across the bank, as well as software that is amenable for a greater automation of build, release testing and deployment process on all environments.
As the Lead Java Engineer on the team you will also drive the reuse and sharing of platform components and technologies within the software engineering teams, as well as delivering software components to enable the delivery of platforms, applications and services
They are looking for a highly experienced Java Engineer who has deep knowledge of JVM and distributed systems. You’ll have used Kafka or MongoDB at enterprise/expert level.
For this Lead Java Engineer position they will pay upto £130,000 + 10% pension (non contributory) + and other discretionary bonuses, plus 30 days holiday (+ bank holidays of course) + 12 months paternity leave!
They are HQ’d in London – 2 days a month is how often you’ll be required to go in.
