Senior Business Analyst (DWH, BI, Data, Big Data) – Banking Client – Brussels

Duration: 1 year freelance contract

Rate: 600 – 700 per day

.The team helps to transform data into insights using techniques such as descriptive analysis, text mining, machine learning, process mining, network analytics, predictive modelling, etc.

• Our scope can be summarized as follows:
• Operating and managing the evolution of the Data & Analytics Platform (DAP) consisting out of a DataLake, the Group Data Warehouse and a new off-premise Operational Data Store aligned with new market evolutions.
• Key player in the AI CoE.
• Centre of Expertise for BI & Reporting.
• Provide project support and expertise to various business lines.

Our DWH squad mission is to integrate Data from Operational Systems into a Data Ware House open to end users for creating reports.

Our tribe is working for both our internal and external clients.

You will play one key facilitator role in the delivery of the projects/business initiatives and in the satisfaction of our clients that are spread over the whole Group.

We are looking for an experienced business analyst who is curious about data behaviours and will be the link between the business and our squad “DWH”.

Your role:

Contribute to the smooth delivery of AIR initiatives whatever the domain of activity.

In that capacity, you will have to understand the challenge the client is facing, elaborate business requirements and follow up on the development and testing.

• During the budgeting phase, you need to:
• Meet the business requestors to understand their needs before formalizing them into a standard business document (HLBR)
• Prepare a first budget assessment for new business initiatives.
• During the requirements specification phase, you will be in charge to:
• Create, review, and maintain the business documents (DBR, data catalogue, glossary, etc.)
• Be the guardian of the scope of each business initiative (raise change request when needed)
• Understand the BI data models created by the designers and validate their conformity to the business need.
• After the requirement phase, you need to:
• Help the designers/developers to validate the completeness and quality of the data they have collected and prepared.
• Support testing phase by defining the testing scope and strategy.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the end-users (Operations) or developers during the User Acceptance Test (UAT)
• Maintain the permanent documentation.

Qualifications:

• You have strong analytical skills and a healthy critical mind set.
• You can think in a structured way.
• You are interested in data management technologies and designing (BI, Big Data, and advanced analytics) and are not reluctant to deal with a certain degree of technicality.
• You have good people skills: you can work in close collaboration with other parties involved in the project and build constructive relationships with all stakeholders (Product, Operations, Commercial, Network, IT, etc.).
• You have a good understanding of the client as an organization and of its products and services. Your previous assignments have exposed you to a certain variety of domains.
• You possess excellent communication skills: present information clearly and concisely (writing skills).
• You keep people informed about projects status and issues – you are autonomous and organized.
• You are able to understand a DWH model.
• You are comfortable with SQL queries.

Required experience:

• Awareness and knowledge of Finance, Banking, Settlement, securities or Asset Servicing domains, and a strong interest in both the financial and the IT world, as being the intermediary between the two,
• 3 to 4 years as a business analyst experience in the Financial sector or 4 years in bank operations.
• A strong IT / BI background be an asset.
