Senior Full Stack/BE Engineer – Toronto

My client is an exciting startup providing a first to market tech platform for eCommerce brands. About the Role:

They are seeking a talented Senior Full Stack / Backend Engineer who will lead initiatives to design, implement, and own large parts of the company’s platform. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and extending features of the platform from its inception to launch to ensure they are shipping high quality code, ultimately producing a superior customer and merchant experience.

You will be focusing on:

* Leading technical design discussions and drive technical decisions.
* Building foundational infrastructure for efficient client onboarding, analytics, reporting, and 3rd party integrations.
* Build, test, and ship end-to-end features to their growing base of customers at a rapid cadence.
* Uphold standards for quality by performing code reviews, fixing bugs, creating automated tests, and monitoring performance.
* Contribute and influence the product road-map.
* Share best practices from your previous experiences to up level the entire team.

Requirements:

* 5 – 7 years of full stack / backend development experience building scalable, fault-tolerant web services.
* 2+ years’ experience building on top of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
* You have a DevOps mindset where you will own your application end-to-end and are able to understand and address infrastructure concerns.
* Experience with databases and designing robust APIs.

Bonus points:

* Experience with PHP and Laravel.
* You have worked with retail and e-commerce or payment platforms.
