Financial Specialist – Private Equity

I am working with a Big 4 Consultancy which is looking for a skilled Financial Specialist – Private Equity to join them for a 3-month engagement.

This role is ideal for a candidate with 6-10 years of experience in private equity investments, who possesses a deep understanding of bookkeeping, processing, reading NAV reports, and working with systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review historical system data such as capital calls, distributions, valuations, and other movements.
• Reconcile FOS system outputs to Excel-based KPI metrics, including IRR, DVPI, TVPI, and MOIC.
• Analyze performance data at the asset, fund, and portfolio levels to evaluate investment performance.
• Review reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain a log of identified issues or discrepancies for ongoing tracking.
• Perform any other relevant private equity activities as agreed upon with the client.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• 6-10 years of experience in private equity investments, with expertise in bookkeeping, systems, and reviewing private equity statements.
• Strong understanding of capital calls, distributions, NAV reports, and other private equity operations.
• Exposure to working with large investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, or Morgan Stanley (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in reconciling system outputs to reports and analyzing private equity performance metrics (IRR, DVPI, TVPI, MOIC).
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Extensive private equity experience, with a proven track record in financial reporting, systems reconciliation, and portfolio performance analysis.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and report findings.
• Hands-on experience with private equity systems and familiarity with reconciliation processes.
