I’m working exclusively with a leading global travel company, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, who are looking to appoint a Social Media Director to lead their global social media presence across all platforms. This is a key strategic role within their marketing leadership team, reporting into the VP of Marketing.

The company has a strong international footprint and is going through an exciting phase of growth and digital transformation, with social media playing a central role in their global brand and content strategy.

What They’re Looking For

They’re seeking an experienced social-first brand builder with a proven track record in leading high-impact campaigns across multiple markets. The ideal candidate will bring both creative and strategic thinking to the table and will have prior experience working with global or regional brands in the travel, lifestyle, or luxury space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the global social media strategy across all platforms, ensuring alignment with overall brand and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee content direction and storytelling, ensuring a steady pipeline of engaging and culturally resonant content that inspires global audiences to travel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across brand, digital, paid media, and regional marketing leads to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Manage and mentor an in-house and agency-supported team of social media managers, content creators, and community specialists.
  • Drive platform innovation-stay ahead of social trends, new formats, and creator strategies that elevate the brand’s digital presence.
  • Monitor performance closely using analytics and insights to inform decisions and continuously optimize strategy.
  • Oversee influencer partnerships and creator programs that drive brand love and earned reach.
  • Ensure effective community management and social listening, helping protect and enhance brand reputation

Candidate Profile:

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in social media marketing, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience working in a global or regional marketing function-travel, hospitality, lifestyle or luxury sectors are a plus.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, creator ecosystems, and emerging content trends.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and external agency partners.
  • Creative mindset with commercial acumen-able to connect brand storytelling with measurable performance.
  • Based in-or open to relocating to-Abu Dhabi.
