The Director Data, Media & Marketing Services will lead the commercial expansion of data and digital services which will compliment a world leading business to business exhibition portfolio. Through a deep understanding of these specialist markets and customer’s needs, you will develop the capabilities to deliver best-in-class content-led lead generation programmes to build highly specific and engaged audiences, thus driving conversions for them.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The role will set out a growth strategy that accelerates revenue derived from audience development and digital demand generation, increasing the overall digital revenue mix of the portfolio from ~10% to 30% by 2024.

As the Director Data, Media & Marketing Services, you will lead a team of sales, marketing delivery and customer success, with close collaboration with the content and editorial teams. At its core, it involves leading the optimization of the collection, collation, and curation of data through its lifecycle across all digital platforms while being a strategic partner to executive leadership and various central support functions including IIRIS.

Develop, grow and where required drive the acquisition and onboarding of media and content platforms to deliver continuous improvements ensuring all stakeholders and support departments are engaged in delivering best of breed solutions that deliver high value Known, Engaged, and Marketable Audiences.

Qualities needed for the role

Strong emphasis and understanding of data management and quality, ensure that the right data is available to consumers and metrics to measure data quality and customer success are defined and achieved.

High level of ownership of goals and the ability to instill ambition and motivation in teams to achieve audience and marketing services targets and best-in-class customer outcomes.

Supportive approach to driving the team, nurturing through monitoring of skill set and advising management of needs on capabilities.

Collaborative approach to peer group and management to foster strong collaboration on development plans.

Skills required

  • Proven record of +10 years in a leadership/management capacity around data-driven digital and content products and teams.
  • Strong understanding of data management fundamentals, including concepts such as data models, architecture, validation, and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of consultative digital sales processes, while understanding digital current digital marketing concepts, strategy & best practices.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and competitive activity.
  • High level of understanding of information tools to monitor and to report performance in relation to short- and long-term targets.
