Lead Enterprise Systems Engineer

Fancy yourself as a technically and commercially minded Systems Engineering Lead, working with one of NZ’s most exciting start ups? If you come from a System Engineering background with an innovative mindset and the operational knowhow, this could be the one for you!

This business has grown exponentially over the past few years and is looking to continue this growth and development by bringing an influential Systems Engineering Lead to aid in the continual development of their systems and tools infrastructure as well as building a team behind them and standing up a Service Desk offering.

What will you be doing?

• Lead the design and implementation of new systems and tools infrastructure as well as managing and improving what’s in place.
• Build out the infrastructure team as well as standing up a new service desk function.
• Preserve the security, reliability, availability and compliance of cloud based systems and infrastructure.
• Work to automate processes as much as possible, using IaC.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap, shaping the company’s future systems and infrastructure.

What we are looking for:

• A strong background in Systems Engineering in complex cloud environments. Ideally around 5-7 years.
• Demonstratable experience deploying, configuring, monitoring and supporting distributed infrastructure systems in a cloud environment
• Strong understanding of security, reliability, scalability and platform management topics in a real-time customer production deployment.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions to implement.
• Excellent communication skills, to communicate company vision and inspire engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 infrastructure
• Ability to identify and automate manual tasks.
