As an art director, you define the look and feel and the tone for each project. You will then articulate your vision and lead a design-savvy team to devise an overall concept.
More than having an eye for aesthetics, the art director should also have a good eye for business. With this skill, the art director will be able to look at the feedback from the client from a business perspective. You understand the complexity of business and its audiences needs therefore you have the essential strategies for crafting The Perfect Pitch!
To be the best art director you can be, you’ll need to be confident giving feedback, both internally and outside of your four walls. A fluent English speaker and writing, well versed in all disciplines of design such as branding, advertising, communication design, moving image, etc. You are able to connect external design trends to actual briefs and objectives. Proficiency in design principles like typography, composition, layout, imagery and working knowledge of how those principles work together, in particular for digital touch points. Great attention to detail. Also, experience working with global technology brands such as Google, or equivalent.
