Our client is looking for an Industrial Designer to join their team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee the conceptualization, design, and execution of physical packaging projects from inception to production, ensuring they meet brand guidelines, category prototype and marketing objectives.
- Demonstrate your skills in design, usability and consumer research to establish and advocate for user-centered mindset and product experiences.
- Collaborate with the team to spearhead the packaging design execution. Drive the full brand breakthrough packaging vision and its implementation, turning it into a significant brand-building advantage.
- Create functional and aesthetic mock ups to assess the user experience and form. Operate and maintain onsite 3d printers.
- Partner with vendors to create appearance models.
- Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact through innovative design approaches, such as minimizing material use, exploring recyclable, and optimizing packaging for shipping efficiency.
- Research and select materials that meet functional requirements and sustainability goals, considering factors such as durability, cost, and environmental impact. Prepare technical drawings and specifications for design intent release to vendors and project teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Packaging Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Possess solid understanding of end-to-end manufacturing methods for personal care and consumer packaged goods; bottles, closures, cartons, conversion (filling), retail and e-commerce distribution and design for recyclability.
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a packaging designer, demonstrated through a strong portfolio of innovative and functional user experiences.
- Fluency in SolidWorks and other similar parametric surface modelling software.
- Proficiency in Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience developing concepts for user research
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies like FDM.
