Freelance Product Owner – Payments

Join a fast-growing FinTech company that I am currently working with.

This company wants to expand the options available to make payments. This client wants you to own this mission, taking responsibility for the development of new payment rails.

Product at this company drives strategy for the business, and as Product Owner – Payments you will be responsible for the performance of your payment areas within the business, for both new and existing products.

Start : Asap

Length : 6 months

Hybrid working: 4 days a week in-house in Victoria, London + 1 day a week remote (note this definitely cannot be changed)

IR35 : Outside IR35

Responsibilities:

• Managing end-to-end delivery of new initiatives and maintenance items within Payments, including business analysis and testing, as well as identifying and executing against improvements to current features and processes.
• Technology will be your main stakeholder. You will be responsible for your backlog in Jira, and you will work closely with them to define requirements and write epics, stories, and test books. You will be participating in all the agile ceremonies.
• Collaborating with an existent payment products team Defining, tracking, and monitoring KPIs for product initiatives, and taking decisions and actions based on results.
• Collaborating on product strategy for Payments, including collections and payouts.

Must haves :

• A deep understanding of Payment schemes and rule books, including international and domestic payment rails.

• Profile of business analyst, product owner + payments knowledge needed

Must be able to show:

• Working in a product role in a high growth fintech or neo bank, or a software/service company OR working in a bank as a Senior Business analyst.
• Deep knowledge of SWIFT & ISO CBPR+ migration.
• Hands-on experience using Jira.
• Knowledge of all agile ceremonies.
• Domain knowledge in Payments.

Nice to have:

• Deep knowledge of SEPA, FPS, CHAPS, BACs, and others.
• Experience working in a high-growth or scale-environment.
• Experience working with software vendors, payment schemes, and banks.
