The Role:
You’ll own the quality and drive technical outcomes in the Android engineering space including feature delivery, solution design, verification and technical support.
Teach, support and govern colleagues with appropriate technical policies & practice.
Be part of the departmental leadership team, accountable for technical quality and culture but no direct reports.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Strong Android development knowledge (with understanding of version differences)
- Strong Core Java knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of Android tooling (Android Studio and Gradle)
- Good experience with Android testing and verification techniques
- Good experience with common Android libraries and frameworks
- Good experience with Kotlin
- Understanding of multi-channel solutions (Web, Mobile, Android, iOS).
- RESTful API’s.
- CI/CD Build tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, Genymotion, Shell Scripting, Unit/Integration Testing).
- Experience with implementing Monitoring / Logging / Alerting (New Relic, SumoLogic, PagerDuty).
Desirable experience:
- Android/Java libraries such as RxJava, Retrofit, Dagger and UIAutomator
- Fast paced agile based environment tending to DevOps
- Test-driven development techniques
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
- A clear understanding of systems analysis, component-based system design and modern software development principles
- Understanding of the full application development life-cycle and supporting methodologies
- Javascript and React Native framework
- Experience and familiarity with AWS technologies
- Consulting and presenting information to different audiences.
