Senior Visual Designer

Sydney Contract / 18 months

Ready to dive into the vibrant world of a leading Global FinTech? Reporting into the Brand and Marketing team, you will be primarily dedicated to the Global Markets and will be responsible for the creative conception, design, storyboarding and execution of the worldwide digital advertising campaigns.

A Day in the Life:

  • Co-own and execute social digital advertising design layouts with artistry, creativity, and mastery. Working to push the brand forward with bold ideas and experimentation, while also being considerate of brand consistency and global alignment.
  • Conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas with speed and quality. Storyboarding, briefing and presenting for both internal Marketing partners and external agencies on motion/animation campaign assets
  • Have a systems frame of mind – approaching all your projects with organization and scalability and building streamlined approaches to everyday design tasks so you can refocus on more impactful projects
  • Collaboratively partner with content designers to design marketing campaigns and elements that drive awareness and engagement, and generate qualified leads that help move the business forward.
  • Develop close relationships with cross-functional marketing partners, both on the Segment (marketing manager) side and the Digital (web and email production) side, to create a level of trust that allows for honest and passionate communication among all parties.
  • Work on multiple project workstreams with complex timelines at one time, using strong communication skills to manage expectations appropriately.
  • Be wildly conceptual by going broad in the discovery phase, work across teams with a multi-disciplinary understanding of design tools and techniques, and then narrow and iterate quickly based on experimentation and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide guidance on visual design to cross-functional marketing partners, with design rationale and customer-backed insight for effective sell-through to senior leadership.
  • Be a catalyst for change. The client is on a transformative journey with their design system and they want designers who can champion change.
  • Contribute to the product’s creative strategy by learning from their customers and applying UX principles to innovate towards a solution.
  • Apply an analytical mindset to your creative expertise, and use design in ways that help drive business objectives based on shifting landscapes.
  • Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in visual design, art direction, or related fields
  • A passion for all things digital with a proven track record in designing for campaigns, working alongside marketing partners and working with (or creating) design systems
  • Demonstrated success in designing for Video, Social, Display, and Web.
  • Deep knowledge of visual design principles and methods, and knowing how those apply across integrated marketing communications
  • A curiosity for new ideas, and a commitment to gaining customer feedback to inform on rapid iteration and innovation to drive business results.
  • Experience synthesizing customer information into actionable learnings for the wider team
  • Effective communication to teammates and cross-functional partners, with strong attention to detail and a focus on building/guiding ongoing stakeholder relationships
  • Experience articulating ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
  • A dazzling online portfolio demonstrating your strong craft and collaborative process
  • Applied experience in Figma – the client is fully invested in their ecosystem
  • An understanding of Financial software products would be advantageous but not required
