Security Engineer

One of Australia’s largest MSPs are looking for a Security Engineer to join the team and assist with the management and deployment of security in both internal and customer facing engagements. If you have experience with reducing security risk and delivery of services, this may be the opportunity for you.

About the role

• Provide Infrastructure support, through building and installing cyber security tooling.

• Define and configure requirements and policies and identify weaknesses and potential threats related to the cyber security toolset.

• Connect regularly with customers to ensure that cyber defences are aligned with their need and develop and evolve systems where needed.

• Perform assessments of systems and networks within the environment and identify where those system deviate from security configuration or policy

• Continuously improve toolsets and playbooks, documenting any threats and vulnerabilities to improve overall processes

About you

• Strong experience with managing and maintaining security tools, such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Mail (Mimecast) and Web Security, SIEM (IBM QRadar), DLP, host based security, anti-malware, vulnerability management (Qualys)

• Understanding of security control frameworks, such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS and ISO27001

• Red vs Blue and Purple team experience

• Proven experience with communicating technical concepts into business actions. Understanding of why security actions need to be made as much as how to deploy them.

• Experience in network troubleshooting and traffic analysis
