Senior Cloud Business Analyst

Seeking a Senior Cloud Business Analyst to assist with the workload migration process from legacy environments into AWS and Azure for an Australian University.

THE ROLE:

The Senior BA will be working on Business Process mapping, creating process artefacts, requirement documentation for Cloud program to help scope the initiatives and ensure that each initiative is delivered on agreed scope of requirements.

Work closely with the IT department to understand the university’s technical and business requirements for cloud adoption and migration.

Develop and execute a migration plan that minimizes downtime and risk to the university’s operations.

Analyse existing business processes, identify areas of improvement, and design and implement cloud-based solutions that optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• The BA will be expected to analyse the nature of workloads that are available in the legacy environment, participate in process of deciding workloads that can be migrated into AWS and Azure.
• Workloads could be business applications, VMs, platform components like databases etc.
• Different treatment plans of migration will be defined by the BA for the nature of workloads available.
• The BA will document the process of workload migration, define a repeatable templated approach towards migration of lift-and-shift workloads that can be rehosted on public cloud.
• The BA will also work on identifying the use cases and situations in which the rehosting approach will apply.

• Strong organisational skills
• Stakeholder management skills

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business administration, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in business analysis, project management, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions that address complex business challenges.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of business processes and project management methodologies.
