Senior Data Strategist

Are you an experienced Data Strategist with a passion for shaping data strategies that drive real impact? We’re looking for a highly skilled and influential data professional to consult on a major industry superannuation fund.

About the Role:

As a Data Strategist, you will be responsible for assessing the client’s current data landscape, identifying opportunities, and formulating a data strategy that aligns with their objectives. You will engage directly with the client (50% client-facing), working closely with internal Technical Leads to craft a tailored approach.

This initial 3 month engagement will focus on shaping the strategy, with the potential to evolve into a formal project where you could transition into a Client Lead role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a thorough assessment of the client’s data landscape, identifying gaps, needs, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal Technical Leads to design a data strategy and execution roadmap.
• Influence client decisions, ensuring alignment with broader objectives.
• Establish rapport and drive meaningful impact in a short timeframe.
• Operate independently and proactively, taking ownership of strategy development.
• Provide expert guidance on best practices in data governance, information management, and strategic execution.

About You:

• Significant experience in data strategy, governance, and management.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence decisions at a senior level, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• A proactive, self-driven mindset, comfortable working autonomously.
• Strong integrity, professionalism, and adaptability.
• Experience in superannuation or financial services is highly regarded.
