Senior Security Engineer

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Security Engineer specializing in Mobile Network Security. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in networks and cloud security to:

• Lead the design, implementation, integration, and operation of advanced security capabilities.
• Develop tailored security solutions for the unique challenges of 5G mobile infrastructure, including Kubernetes on Bare Metal, private cloud platforms, and telecommunications networks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate security into network infrastructure.
• Utilize best practices, methodologies, frameworks, tools, and processes to design and build robust network engineering and technology solutions.
• Work closely with Network and Security team members to drive security solution design, operational readiness, change implementation, and platform support initiatives.
• Communicate information security policies, standards, and procedures for network and cloud technologies, promoting security awareness within the team.
• Document your work to ensure business continuity, security, and operational support.
• Engage in continuous learning and development to stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as enhancing CI/CD capabilities (testing, automation) to reduce cycle time while maintaining quality.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

• Extensive technical proficiency in OpenStack, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, TCP/IP routing protocols, SDN, and virtualized networking.
• Demonstrated expertise in OpenStack, Kubernetes, and network automation.
• Proven experience with security tools and practices related to network, cloud, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• In-depth knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes security features, including authentication, authorization, secure communication, encryption, RBAC, auditing, and logging.
• Ability to discover, review, and implement innovative approaches to securing private cloud platforms and telecommunications networks.
• Comprehensive understanding of traditional and cloud-native network security components (firewalls, proxies, security groups, IAM, MFA, threat prevention, vulnerability management, secrets, and certificate management).
• Proven hands-on experience in automation/scripting with Python.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with security and mobile team members.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with traditional and cloud-native network security components.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing system security hardening guidelines.
• Competence in collaborating with DevSecOps and Mobile Security teams on CI/CD and orchestration security for virtual and containerized network functions and applications.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in security and/or engineering roles.
• A Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, Telecommunications Engineering, or Network Security.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCIE (Security), CompTIA, or Cloud Security Certification.
