Site Reliability Engineer

Salt has partnered with the world leading capital markets firm that is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. Join the company combining deep trading acumen with cutting-edge analytics and technology to be able to shape the global markets of tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding;
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures;
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning;
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts;

What makes you a good fit:

• Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux command line;
• Good understanding of the usage of TCP/IP and UDP networking in applications;
• Understanding of network routing and troubleshooting;
• Experience in Bash, Python or other scripting language;
• First line support and root cause problem diagnosis within a real-time, distributed environment;
• Large-scale application and infrastructure capacity planning and deployment;
• Organizing application migrations and infrastructure upgrades;
• Trading desk support experience and knowledge of trading systems and applications is preferred;
• Intermediate-level Python development experience is preferred
