Software QA/Tester

4 Month Contract

Location: Redfern, NSW 2016

*Close to train station*

Immediate Start

The candidate should have at least 4 years’ experience performing all aspects of web based application testing.

Experience should involve both functional and non-functional testing

Role:

• Writing test plan/strategy, test scenarios/cases, RTM, test data, daily tests reports and required documentation for the projects.
• Review the requirements for testability and consult with stakeholders as necessary and identification of scope of testing.
• Conduct review of test cases for coverage and consult with stakeholders as necessary.
• Ability to provide accurate testing estimates.
• Perform and manage internal/external customer engagements to provide support and expertise to help new customers and existing customers interface.
• Assist in clarifying functional specifications to allow for more efficient development.
• Test execution of different testing phases: System Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Useability Testing and Production Release Testing. Ensuring delivery of the highest quality standard.
• Raise and conduct defect/bug triage and replicate production issues in the test environments to provide detailed information for the development team to resolve issues.
• Participate in the standardisation and continual improvement of the testing processes and methodology.
• Manage the knowledge base repository for applications under your responsibility.
• Documentation of system support procedures, changed business rules, updated technical guide based on the bugs, tasks or enhancements.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and excellent analytical skills
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Assisting in the project quality reviews for your assigned applications
• Other duties as directed from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS (Skills and Experience)

Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in all areas of SDLC.
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Tester / Test Analyst.
• Experience in API or Web services testing
• Experience in Micro services testing is strongly preferred
• ISTQB Certified.
• Experience in conflict-resolution, applied at both a customer and internal level.
• Understanding of Testing tools like Zephyr, JIRA or QC.
• Strong experience with SQL queries with SQL Server or Oracle.
• System integration testing (functional and technical).
• Experience in waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Strong QA skills: planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting and troubleshooting.

Desired

• Test Automation Experience with API or Selenium will be preferred
• Scrum/Kanban experience is desirable
• Experienced in automation, preferably Cucumber, Selenium or TestNG
• Experienced in java programming using Eclipse or IntellIJ
