• Manual + database testing experience
• Good SQL knowledge
• Experience in any forecasting tool will be preferred.
• Energy industry experience is nice to have.

Sr. Manual Test Analyst

The Senior Tester in Melbourne or Sydney is responsible for testing market systems to ensure that they have the required functionality, reliability, security and flexibility as part of the market systems delivery projects. The role provides timely, broad, detailed and effective test plans for the projects, ensuring creative solutions of test automation and test process improvements are delivered to allow the maximum of testing to be applied with the minimum of resources:

• Analysis of requirements and specifications to develop requirements traceability matrix, test objectives and test scenarios that give coverage over functionality, business service levels, network, security and platform issues in the market systems;
• Execution of the test plans and adherence to test standards;
• Ensuring the testing of systems that can respond quickly and efficiently to changing requirements by the high standard of test plans and documentation;
• Creating efficient test data to establish baseline and reusability of the same data set;
• Designing and delivering test automation processes associated with testing to maximise the test efficiency;
• Managing, training and supervising contractor project test resources to meet project objectives;
• Creating and maintaining test environment, IT support activities during UAT and co-ordination during software deployment phases;
• Act as the test expert on an assigned systems scope to provide long-term testing ability for support and development of this key market component, as well as learning the key market business processes so as to provide a reference point; and
• Dealing with a multiplicity of technologies and unclear and/or unfamiliar specifications.
• Experience in testing web-based / client-server applications/batch applications;
• A strong manual testing background is also required;
• Strong skills in automation tools such as Selenium / Soap UI / Playwright (ideally with a developer background with knowledge of scripting and languages such as Java/C#);
• Development of test plans and execution of these plans in mission-critical development IT projects;
• Development of automation strategy, plans and execution of these plans in IT projects;
• Strong SQL skills in RDBMS preferably Oracle/MSSQL;
• Excellent test planning and requirement analysis skills;
• Self-motivated and able to work independently;
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project stakeholders;
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent are required; and
• A solid understanding of principles and practices associated with the testing of information technology projects, typically around four to seven years of experience.
