Application Architect (Software Engineer) – Banking – Brussels (REMOTE)

Description
Application Architect (Software Engineer) is responsible for detailed design of applications on Windows and Linux platforms and coordination of the implementation phase. The main duties include:
– Translating business and technical requirements into realistic and maintainable IT solutions
– Coordinating the configuration and delivery with internal and external technical stake holders
– Following up and providing guidance to the development team
– Acting as an application owner: supporting uptime of applications and participating in defining roadmap of activities to keep the solutions up to date
– Fully remote for the duration of the pandemic and then full time in the Brussels office
Must haves:
- DB knowledge (SQL). We work with a lot of data
- SSIS(.NET)/scripting(batch) is a real +
- Software engineer, as you need to know the life cycle of deploying an application and its integrations/dependencies
- Comfortable with support: Think out of the box, why does that issue occur all the time?
- Coordinate tasks. As we depend on a lot of other teams or even vendors, it’s needed to do the follow up.
- Understandable (good knowledge of English) and cfr above
- Not scared to work in a transforming team. We are changing from waterfall to Agile

Qualifications
– Bachelor or master degree in IT and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
– Experience with Windows and Linux technologies and development tools
– Experience with offshore delivery is a plus
– Fluent in English
– Proactivity, flexibility, good algorithmic thinking skills
