The Role:
We’re hiring a People and Culture Manager who will play a central role in creating an inclusive, people-first workplace that fuels innovation and performance. This is a high-impact position for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-change environments and enjoys wearing many HR hats.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with leadership to align people strategies with business goals while managing the full spectrum of HR responsibilities – from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, compliance, and culture-building. You’ll also lead initiatives around employee wellness, engagement, and DEI, while ensuring HR operations are both efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Planning
* Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
* Support workforce planning, succession development, and organizational design.
* Monitor trends and advise leadership on HR risks and opportunities.
Recruitment & Onboarding
* Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
* Oversee onboarding and orientation programs that enhance new hire experience.
* Build relationships with external recruiters and job boards.
Employee Relations & Engagement
* Act as a trusted resource for employees, addressing inquiries and resolving conflicts.
* Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through engagement programs.
* Advise on policy interpretation, ethical conduct, and performance concerns.
Performance Management
* Manage the performance review process and coach managers on best practices.
* Refine performance evaluation tools and documentation.
* Support performance improvement plans and professional development.
Policy & Compliance
* Develop and update HR policies and handbooks.
* Ensure compliance with employment laws and workplace regulations.
* Conduct internal investigations and maintain legal documentation.
Compensation & Benefits
* Coordinate payroll in collaboration with finance or third-party vendors.
* Manage benefits administration, renewals, and employee education.
* Benchmark compensation to ensure competitive and equitable practices.
Training & Development
* Identify and implement training programs to support growth and compliance.
* Create or curate professional development materials.
* Track participation and measure training effectiveness.
HR Systems & Reporting
* Maintain accurate employee data and HR documentation.
* Prepare reports on headcount, turnover, leave, etc.
* Use HRIS tools (e.g. ADP) to streamline processes and insights.
Health, Safety & Wellness
* Support compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
* Promote wellness programs and return-to-work initiatives.
* Coordinate accommodations and other employee support services.
Culture & Inclusion
* Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
* Lead culture-building activities and employee recognition programs.
* Serve as a culture ambassador, ensuring HR practices reflect company values.
What We’re Looking For:
* Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; 4+ years of progressive HR experience.
* Recruitment & Onboarding: Proven success managing full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes.
* Employee Relations & Engagement: Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; experience leading engagement initiatives.
* Performance Management: Skilled in facilitating review cycles and coaching managers through feedback and development.
* Policy & Compliance: Solid understanding of Canadian labor laws and policy development.
* Compensation & Benefits: Experience in administering payroll and benefits programs.
* HR Systems: Proficiency with HRIS platforms and data reporting tools.
