Engineering Manager (Nodejs+Typescript)

Join our client, a leading multinational auction company, as they seek an Engineering Manager to lead their onshore team. This role requires in-office presence just one day a week, providing an exciting opportunity to collaborate with industry trailblazers.

Experience

• Over 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Proven expertise in building and managing diverse technical teams, encompassing Front-end, Back-end, DevOps, and QA engineers.
• Strong track record in people management, including performance assessment, coaching, mentoring, talent management, and career development.
• Experience in overseeing multiple development teams within an agile framework.
• Proficiency in managing remote teams.
• Must haves: Hands-on experience in Node.js & Typescript (backend) ecosystem, Microservices architecture, MSSQL, Azure/AWS, Kafka
• Significant experience in enhancing and managing DevOps capabilities and CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on Azure Cloud, GitHub, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one cloud solution; Azure preferred.
• In-depth experience in an agile development setup.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture development, and exposure to automated testing (functional, performance, and security) is advantageous.

• A skilled technical leader with effective people management abilities, displaying empathy and adaptability to diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders, presenting and articulating technical discussions.
• Influential in negotiating technical feasibility and options with diverse audiences.
• Deep understanding of common design patterns for Front-end, Back-end development, and DevOps aligned with industry trends.
• Experience in cross-functional agile teams with a Scrum, Ceremonies, and DevOps culture.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven self-learner with a high aptitude for acquiring and mastering new technology skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to the Centre of Excellence.
• Capability to evaluate and challenge functional and technical requirements and designs.
• Strong desire and ability to work in an onshore/offshore environment.
