Trade Counter Salesperson

  • 5 months temporary assignment

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our client is a leading supplier in industrial and trade sector, committed to delivering high quality products and outstanding customer service. As a Trade Counter Salesperson, you will be the first point of contact for walk-in customers at the trade counter. You will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, offering expert advice on a wide range of industrial products, and driving sales by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable solutions. Task and responsibilities include:

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Provide knowledgeable advice on a broad range of industrial products
  • Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse and sales teams to meet customer needs
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns
  • Support stock control, including stock takes and reordering as needed

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience in counter sales or customer-facing role, in an industrial or trade supply
  • Good technical understanding of industrial/engineering products. Familiarity with compressors, pneumatic components, air tools or mechanical systems would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information to skilled tradespeople and novices
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
