Unity Developer

Our client is a leader in interactive visualisations for mining, energy, infrastructure and expanding into other sectors as well. Their interactive visualisations range from standard applications with limited customisation through to fully bespoke applications.

Headquartered in New Zealand, they have subsidiaries in US, Canada and Australia. A tight-knit organisation that retains the feel of a start-up while catering to client (blue-chip corporations & government) needs globally.

Christchurch based, must be able to work on-site for client confidentiality reasons.

The role

• The Unity Developer will work with the visualisation and development teams to produce solutions that support our client’s strategic growth aspirations and their broad range of client (top international clients, including top fortune 500 companies in the US, Canada and Australia) requirements.
• Develop and optimise 3D applications using Unity WebGL and C#.
• Optimise Unity WebGL projects for performance, ensuring smooth operation and efficient resource management.
• Design and integrate shaders to enhance visual elements and performance.
• Create tools to improve workflows and automate tasks within Unity
• Contribute to the company’s growth strategy
• Visualize a concept, develop it, implement it and then manage it- it will truly be your baby!
• SME for anything regarding Unity within the team.

The candidate

• Strong experience in software development, focused on 3D (preferred) and/or 2D game development using Unity and C#.
• Experience with WebGL and building applications for web-based 3D visualisation.
• Demonstrable experience with native plugins and communication interfaces for Unity.
• Knowledge/Experience with 3D modelling software would be a plus.
• We are looking for good communication skills, a desire to learn and someone who is an excellent team-player.
• Open for candidates who are willing to relocate to Christchurch from anywhere in NZ.
