Senior UX Designer (NYC hybrid)

Consumer fintech/investment platform merging the idea of Spotify and Robinhood together 😉

They are using AI and ML to help predict personalized recs for investing! Like how Spotify recommends your Weekly playlists, or Netflix recommends shows to watch. (RIP Netflix password sharing)

This company operates like a smaller startup, but are backed by a publicly traded company overseas. There is guaranteed funding from the home office, but still, the NY team is growing! Right now, there are about 15 people across product and eng and HR and leadership in the NYC office! So not super tiny, but definitely not very big!

With a small team overseas, they will rotate them to the NYC office for 3 months for more collaboration in person later this year.

IDEAL CANDIDATES:
5+ years of experience in UX design. (They will also be hiring a UI designer!)

This role will help to set processes (coming from a big tech company where you hopefully learned how to do that will be ideal)
… followed by having experience in a startup setting.
In addition to having consumer experience! B2B is not ruled out – but interest in the investment and financial space will be most necessary as it is a pretty large product/platform and having industry-specific experience will help both you and them.

Salary: 150,000 – 250,000 USD + up to 20% bonus + equity

Why is the salary range so big? It really comes down to the person! This will be a leading role but very much hands-on execution. So if this person is more senior or a manager, we have to set the expectation that you will be hands-on/in the weeds. As the team grows, (hoping to hire 3-5 designers in NYC) this person could grow into more of the Director level to oversee the work. Or you can remain an IC!

Final note: this is a hybrid 3x a week in the office role. In the Chelsea neighborhood. You can go any day of the week you wish – most go in Mon-Wed, and the rest of the week, WFH.
