Senior Public Relations Consultant (12-Month Contract – 2 Days/Week)

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, tech-forward company operating at the intersection of digital media, entertainment, and the creator economy to hire a Senior Public Relations Consultant. This 12-month consulting role (2 days per week) is ideal for someone with strong media relationships, particularly in entertainment, tech, and music publications, who thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

This is a high-impact opportunity to drive media visibility and elevate brand presence through strategic storytelling, press placements, and thought leadership. The role focuses on activating your media network and creatively identifying opportunities that cut through the noise-this is not a generalist PR role.

What You’ll Do:

Media Relations

  • Leverage strong existing relationships with top-tier outlets in entertainment (e.g., Variety, The Hollywood Reporter), tech (e.g., TechCrunch, The Verge), and music (e.g., Billboard, Rolling Stone).
  • Craft and pitch compelling stories-founder features, product announcements, thought leadership pieces, and more.
  • Secure impactful media coverage across traditional and emerging platforms.

Opportunity Activation

  • Identify non-traditional media opportunities: podcasts, op-eds, commentary, exclusives, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to shape narratives that resonate with target publications.
  • Explore cross-platform exposure (e.g., TikTok press influencers, Spotify shows, YouTube features).

Thought Leadership & Brand Visibility

  • Position key executives as leaders in the space through interviews, speaking engagements, and bylined content.
  • Provide media training support where needed.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Track outreach and coverage results through a transparent reporting system.
  • Work in sync with brand, marketing, and creative teams to ensure alignment in tone, timing, and storytelling.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A well-connected PR professional with direct media contacts-not just access to a media database.
  • Proven success working with culturally relevant, digital-first brands in tech, music, or entertainment.
  • Strategic, creative, and proactive with a strong track record of securing earned media coverage.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently on a consulting or project basis.
  • Bonus: Experience navigating media for brands powered by AI, data, or emerging tech platforms.
