Director of Programmatic Advertising

Denver Permanent Negotiable

As the Programmatic Advertising Director you will be responsible for managing programmatic team, owning all agency-wide programmatic activity (across Geo’s), and managing programmatic contracts across multiple channels and verticals.

You will regularly collaborate with account management teams to ensure client KPIs are being met by the programmatic team, and work with sales to implement programmatic solutions based on clients needs.

The role + responsibilities:

  • Manage the programmatic team on a day-to-day basis; providing input on weekly client decks, driving best practices and implementing new tests/ strategies
  • Work directly with the wider client services team + vendors to create media plans to help accomplish campaign objectives
  • Maintain bulletproof organization of client spend, budgets, naming conventions, and account best practices
  • Utilize media-buying tools including (but definitely not limited to) Apple Search Ads, The Trade Desk, Yahoo DSP, Xandr Invest, StackAdapt, DV360, Search Ads 360, Taboola, Moloco, and Google Campaign Manager
  • Manage and own ongoing programmatic platform contracts (including Google Marketing Platform contracting) and negotiate new contracts with potential partners
  • Own the framework for executing tests, collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends and insights to maximize performance
  • Collaborate with the social and search teams to create unified, cross-channel campaigns.
  • Own the system for tracking programmatic benchmarks, keeping the wider company updated on industry trends.
  • Heavy involvement in the media planning process, meeting with client teams to find where programmatic can strategically support ongoing campaigns
  • Supervise the team’s expenses and budget; estimating monthly costs and reconciling discrepancies
  • Identify and present new opportunities/areas of growth that will help continue the development of the paid channels
  • Media planning, including advising on programmatic advertising strategies for verticals including mobile, connected tv, display, pre-roll, native, out of home, and audio ads

Your Background + Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience managing programmatic advertising campaigns
  • Excellent analytical skills and with the proven ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work directly with clients, ask hard questions, and push yourself and the team to execute at the highest levels.
  • Knowledge of programmatic advertising platforms (i.e. Apple Search Ads, The Trade Desk, Yahoo DSP, StackAdapt, DV360, Xandr Invest, Google Campaign Manager, etc.)
  • Knowledge of how various programmatic tactics fit into the broader marketing funnel to accomplish client objectives
  • Knowledge of the third-party audience ecosystem, and the broader MarTech ecosystem
  • Understanding of digital advertising tracking and attribution technologies
  • A proven track record of implementing programmatic campaign optimization tactics such as bidding strategies, audience targeting, creative optimization, etc.
  • Management experience; prior experience managing a global team is a plus
