Our client a Series B Media startup founded by industry veterans are growing their NYC commercial team. We are seeking an Executive Sales Director to oversee Enterprise B2B categories.

Executive Sales Director: Financial Services

This role involves building and maintaining relationships with companies across the Financial Services sector, including consumer and B2B businesses, while driving growth and revenue.

Reporting to the VP of Commercial Revenue, the Executive Sales Director will collaborate with the broader Commercial team to promote the brand and acquire new clients. This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with clients and agency stakeholders to create advertising partnerships within the Financial Services sector.
  • Oversee the full sales cycle: engage with decision-makers, understand KPIs, negotiate, close deals, and secure repeat business.
  • Expand and manage a client list through existing relationships, personal network, and prospecting efforts.
  • Educate potential partners on the company’s story, elite journalism, and advertising products.
  • Collaborate with Account Management to develop go-to-market materials.
  • Track and report sales performance for your vertical.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance offerings for both paid subscribers and advertising clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience selling into Financial Service, Technology or Consulting/Professional Services verticals
  • Passion for media and expertise in consultative selling.
  • Proven success in relationship and business development.
  • Strong independent work ethic while being a team player.
  • Consistent track record of exceeding goals.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 8-10 years of sales experience in digital media, with a strong record of meeting sales targets.
  • Existing relationships within media and entertainment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Keynote, and Google Slides.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $300,000 – $360,000 (OTE), based on experience and location.
