Job Title: Senior ICT Technical Project Manager
Location: Cape Town
Job Type: 6-month contract
Reports To: PMO Office

Overview:

A leading retail organization is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager for a large, cross-functional project contract. The scope includes front-end development across multiple channels, extensive integration with existing enterprise systems, and a PaaS core back-end platform.

The role requires a highly skilled professional who can manage cross-functional teams, stakeholders, budgets, and timelines while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical standards. The candidate will work closely with business delivery teams, internal and external engineering teams, and key technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and meeting scope requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Work with executives, business leaders, and technical teams to align the project with business objectives.
• Technical Oversight: Guide the project team in implementing the correct technical architecture, solutions, and integrations.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate technical and project risks to ensure smooth delivery.
• Resource Allocation: Manage project resources, balancing capacity planning and priorities.
• Budget & Financial Control: Develop, track, and manage project budgets and financial performance.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure best practices, standards, and thorough testing are maintained.
• Change Management: Lead organizational readiness efforts, training, and communication for new technology adoption.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and process improvements for future projects.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience managing large-scale ICT projects using methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or PRINCE2.
• Strong technical background in ICT infrastructure, software development, cloud computing, and IT architecture.
• Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, business analysts, and vendors.
• Excellent communication skills to simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong risk management, problem-solving, and financial planning experience.
• Vendor and contract management experience.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of ICT project management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior project management or technical leadership role.
• PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or Scrum Master certifications (preferred).
