Senior Software Engineer (PHP Laravel)

Salt have partnered with an exciting FinTech startup that is on the lookout for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP Laravel) to join their Sydney team!

You’ll get to work on an awesome FinTech product in a cross-functional tech team that includes Mobile Engineers, Product Managers and Product Designers.

What you’ll bring?

• 5+ years professional Software Engineering experience
• Strong understanding of software engineering architecture and design best practices
• Professional engineering experience with PHP, specifically with the Laravel framework

– You’re encouraged to apply for this role even if you’ve used other PHP frameworks recently like Symfony

– You’re also encouraged to apply for this role if you’re focus more recently has been with Ruby on Rails, so long as you’re open to working with PHP Laravel in this position

Bonus Point if you have:

• Terraform (IaC experience)

What you’ll be doing?

• Working in a cross functional tech-team that includes; a hands-on CTO (who you’ll report to), an iOS Engineer, an Android Engineer, a Product Designer, a Head of Product and a Product Manager
• Producing clean, scalable and maintainable code
• Refactoring elements of the existing code base
• Working closely with PHP Laravel and using Terraform (you’ll be able to learn Terraform if you don’t already have experience with this)
• Pair programming
• Approaching all aspects of engineering through a security lens
